There are two sure fire ways to get Apple’s legal team to blitz you with a thunderpunch of litigation: 1) make an action figure doll in the likeness of Steve Jobs and advertise it as a Steve Jobs doll 2) Use the Apple logo, or anything that kind of almost looks like the Apple logo, on a product you’re selling.
Leofrutta, a fruit company in Sicily, is guilty of option number two. They don’t even try to morph the Apple logo into something a little bit different, instead they just use an exact replica of the bitten apple made famous by Steve Jobs. They’re not just using the Apple logo on their truck though, it’s all over their website too.

We’re sorry Leofrutta, but you should probably expect a call from Apple’s legal team in the next 24 hour hours, even if you are just peddling apples.

How stupid of them….
Really, must of been really stupid if they had the same logo back in the 80’s when the company was founded… They may well have a counter claim against Apple… ;)

Leofrutta was founded in the 80’s, in the 90’s the company went into the hands of children and Sebastiano Alfio Di Bella who started the processing of quality products under the brand name reclamizati Leofrutta
And the current Apple Logo was trademarked in 1998 meaning that it may well be that Apple has no claim and they may have a claim against Apple… ;)

Apple was founded in 1976
They had an original logo but then changed it to the Apple logo we see now at the end of 1976.
And besides, it doesn’t look like that is the original logo of Leofrutta. They’ve probably changed it when Apple started to climb up or during the iPod boom
Apple changed to the last logo in 1998, before that they had the apple with coloured stripes, which could never be called the same or trademarked in the same way i’m sure, and as this company was clearly already in business and trading prior to the change, then it is pure speculation that they are going to be sued, but then everyone of you here clearly thinks that apple has that right, well, maybe they do, and i hope they get screwed for it. They go after the wrong businesses for the wrong reason, and the reporting for this case is bloody ridiculous anyway.
Now if they had changed there logo recently and this could be backed up by good reporting, then maybe you would all have a good case. unfortunately it is NOT…!
Search for anything other than crap news reports that state this was done recently, search for anything regarding the logo and when it was changed, or is this just journalists scraping the bottom of the barrel and copying each others rotten apple story.
