LiveClock, a tweak from Ryan Petrich that animates the Clock app’s icon to show the time, was once one of the first tweaks I would install after jailbreaking my iPhone. But after installing iOS 5, I had to live without it — because it just wasn’t compatible. Now, nine months after iOS 5 made its debut, it is!
LiveClock got a long-awaited update this week that finally adds support for devices running iOS 5.0 and above. Since Apple’s software made its debut in October 2011, the free tweak has been incompatible, and installing it literally did nothing.
Thankfully that’s no longer the case. Now the Clock’s icon will show the actual time right on your home screen, which is especially useful if you like to free up your status bar by removing the time. Check out LiveClock in action in this video courtesy of JailbreakNation:
LiveClock is a free tweak available from Cydia now. You’ll need to add Petrich’s repository (https://rpetri.ch/repo/) to access it, however.
