Not much else to say. Hot on the heels of his iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak for A4 devices and lower, jailbreak hacker extraordinaire pod2g has now reportedly made progress jailbreaking the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0.1, and says that we could even expect a release next week. Hurrah!

will this be for iOS 5 or 5.0.1?
I’d assume 5.0.1. The software has already been cracked – the problem with the 4S was just the A5 processor.
oh i feel retarded haha, i had a feeling but once i saw this tweet
https://twitter.com/#!/pod2g/s…
i updated my ipad2. almost done :D
the only thing pod2g has been working on has been 5.0.1
WOOT!!!
would this apply to the ipad2?
Yes.
So does that mean siri can get ported over to the iPhone 4 without using that odd, back-door method that was posted a few days ago?
Having been an ex-jailbreaker I am reluctanct to break my 4s as iOS5 is pretty damn smart. I am actually relishig in being a normal user and cannot see a direct reason why I should jailbreak anymore. The only things i would miss are Bite SMS and maybe SB settings but is that really worth the hassle? I think i may sit this one out and be a normal member of the apple community until something amazing appears on Cydia. Good luck!

The ONLY thing I ever jailbroke for was the GameBoy emulator. There is something really magical about your iPhone turning into a GameBoy with the tap of a virtual button… *INSTANT NOSTALGIA*
how about being able to save each and every kinda of file onto your phone from the web browser? Be it music, a small Windows or Mac app or anything else. or viewing videos on youtube that are normally blocked for iOS users. with android this isn’t a problem because you can still view those vidoes in the browser, thanks to flash.
The one and ONLY reason I have an iPhone 4s is because my 2012 Murano LE refuses to properly talk to any phone that isn’t made by Apple. If this jailbreak doesn’t materialize soon, I’m going back to android and forget about the steering wheel music controls.
