In the U.S. you may have trouble getting Al Jazeera on cable, but now you can check it out on your iPad using Flipboard.
The Qatar-based network just launched an English-language version of its international news for free over news junkie app Flipboard.
In addition to being the most likely network to televise the next revolution, Al Jazeera English will also bring you international news, current affairs and documentaries. (Check out social media-powered talk show “The Stream,” too.)

The people commenting here about Al Jazeera being a terrorist network probably have never read or watched it. Al Jazeera is remarkably objective and professional in its reporting, and they cover events that most US outlets don’t.

really surprised that most people here are against aljazeera just because it is headquartered in an Arab country. whats more surprising is that they probably never watched the channel. even your own Hillary Clinton complimented Aljazeera for its quality of programming and news presentation and shamed her own US channels like CNN (i dont even need to mention FOX). anyways watch before you judge.
Have you ever actually watched Al Jezerra?? If so, then you’d realize it is a very well balanced and accurate new source. I’m a big news hound and spend probably too much time daily reading/watching news sources on the internet, CNN, BCC, Voice of America, MSNBC, Link, etc., etc. And indeed, Al Jezerra has become one of my favorite … esp. when it comes to what’s happening in the Middle East. And to you who mindlessly hate Muslims because, well, they’re Muslims …. Al Jezerra is not anti-American or pro-Arab/Muslim.
You gotta download it before you can delete it.

Since pretty much all news is “Pro-USA news,” it’s nice to get some other opinions for a change. ;)
However, in the news business, the idea is to just, you know … tell the news and not be ‘pro’ or ‘con’ anything. That’s why they call it “the news.”
The same Hillary Clinton said that Fox was the fairest news outlet during the 2008 election. Something tells me that you’ll choose to accept one opinion from her (Al Jazeera) and ignore the other.
As an international student in the united states, I can tell you for a fact (first hand) that generally americans are ignorants in regards to anything outside thier continent. Actually flipborad did Americans a favor. So to sum this you are not just being ignorants or even arrogant bunch you are also ungrateful lol…In case of someone wondering why am studying in the US then…Well you guys have good schools and I also appreciate different opinions, they make me have a wider view. I don’t like to be a living zombie.

I hope there is some way of opting out of al jazeera on Flipboard. Looked in Prefs but can’t find a way to turn off unwanted sources. Short of deleting Flipboard, does anyone know of a way to zap the al jazeera stories?
