Just as expected, Apple has issued an update to its iWork productivity suite to introduce a number of new features included in OS X Lion, including full-screen capability, resume, auto save, and more.

This is update 6 (version 9.1) and is available now via the Mac App Store, or Software Update, depending on how you purchased your software.

All three applications — that’s Pages, Keynote and Numbers — now have full-screen viewing mode that allows you to work away without distractions from other applications; a new ‘resume’ feature that enables you to close each application and begin right where you left off next time you open them; auto save to prevent you losing your precious data; a character picker; and ‘versions’, which automatically records the history of a document as it is created and allow you to look back at previous versions Time Machine-style.

Keynote also gets two new builds called ‘Anvil’ and ‘Fall Apart’.

When is the new iWork coming out, I’ve been waiting more than a year for it. I don’t want to end up buying Microsoft Office.
