Woz: iPhone is still my favorite smartphone

Lower the pitchforks, everyone. A mere day after everyone’s favorite hirsute, technosexual bear became widely vilified on Mac blogs for claiming that the HTC Nexus One was his new favorite gadget, the Woz has clarified matters to Gizmodo:

Actually, everyone got it wrong. My favorite phones are my iPhones. When asked what my favorite gadgets were I took it to mean new gadgets I was playing with (that I considered good). I am not a switcher but I’m not going to tell people that the Nexus One is not a good gadget. Same for the Droid. I continually buy and play with new hot gadgets because I gets asked about them all the time. I have had prior Android phones that I didn’t consider good. I usually have between 2 and 6 different cell phones on me, more when there are interesting product introductions.

I try mainly to make good comments but I’m honest about flaws too. I don’t get into arguments trying to claim that there are objective reasons that make one person’s phone better than another’s. It’s subjective. You can’t win such arguments, only have a stressful life doing so. I have no problem praising and learning from non-Apple products as well as Apple products, when they are good.

Okay, Woz, we’re placated for now. Just don’t let it happen again.

Woz has paid his dues many times and decades in the past! How can anyone tell him he is wrong to like something, he can like whatever he wants, when he wants. Leave him be. This Applemania tosh directed at a guy that made it all possible is pathetic.

Maybe I don’t need to say this, but my ribbing of Woz is very much tongue in cheek. I personally don’t care if he ever uses an Apple product again.

Funny summary of the Woz, JB You are always good for a bit of a sensationalistic laugh.

the Woz needs a “Keep on Truckin” t-shirt.

Woz is a tech and gadget lover. He has the right to like any gadget despite it’s flaws, even the iPhone.

I actually respected him for speaking his mind. We need more people who just say hey I like this product or I don’t like this product without couching it with fake platitudes based on maintaining business or fiduciary interests.

He’s actually carrying 2 to 6 cell phones? Genius or not, he’s crazy…

    Look ….

No one loves Wozzie more than me — but 6 fuckin’ cellhones ?!?

    What bullshit ….

Happens all the time after shooting off without thinking next come back with a reply i got misquoted and his initial remark did give the goog fannies a cheap thrill.

“and his initial remark did give the goog fannies a cheap thrill.”

Hehe too late. Ever read the Droid Does forums? The Android fans are claiming Woz as “one of their own” now. Hehe too funny. Too funny.

He initial comment was misunderstood to begin with. It was twisted just so there could be more anti-Apple flame bait. Something that Engadget and Gizmodo are really good at these days. They both trash Apple all day long.

I really respect Woz’s opinion , he is entitled comment on any gadget as I believe he knows what he is talking about .personally I don’t think HTC or Nexus phones will seem that good when the iPhone 4G is released.

Seeing the Woz backlash was pretty funny and ugly. You apple folks need to calm down.

it is funny….very fynny…from the one hand you glorify and worship every single bit of Steve Jobs, and on the other hand you are making fun of one of his closest friends.

You may forget that Woz is not just the co-establisher of Apple, but also co-owner of the company, and one of the first inventers of Apple computers and software.

Pay some respect to Woz or do not write about him (if you find him pathetic).

BTW, I guess that if Jobso ever reads this Apple worshiper blog, he does not find funny your frat boy articles about his friend…..
