Apple’s upcoming Mac mini refresh is expected to drop sometime this week, and will introduce 500GB hard drives as standard, Intel’s latest Sandy Bridge processors, and the company’s high-speed Thunderbolt technology to the smallest Mac desktop. Here’s what else you can expect.

As previous reports had suggested, there will also be a Mac mini server, according to a source for 9to5 Mac, who has also provided specs for the upcoming MacBook Airs:

The base model will include a 2.3 GHz processor with 2GB of RAM, and 500 GB of hard drive storage space
The more expensive model will include a 2.5 GHz processor with 4GB of RAM, and 500 GB of hard drive space.
Finally, the new Mac mini line will also include a new server model with a 2.0 GHz processor, 4 GB of RAM, and two 500GB hard drives of storage. This new server model should include OS X Lion server, but that’s just a reasonable assumption.

MacBook Airs and Mac minis won’t be the only new additions to Apple’s online store, however — the new LED Cinema Display, now reportedly called the “Apple Thunderbolt Display,” will also launch this week.

Ahhhhh about time! I’ve been waiting months for a Mac Mini Refresh.
I need a couple of new servers and these will be perfect!

The only thing that will make it sweeter is a price drop!

Yah, I really wish the mini would see a substantial price drop.  I think they would sell a lot more Mac’s and get people into the mac world if the mini was super cheap.

While I’m talking about my wish list :

The other thing I’d like to see is a Bluetooth Keyboard and Trackpad for the Apple TV and then enable Apps on it.A sub $200 Apple IOS ‘computer’ would rock!
