There’s no doubt that the original version of TeamViewer — a free OS X and iOS app that lets users remotely commandeer another user’s Mac (with their permission, of course) and troubleshoot stuff — is a Big Gun for any Mac troubleshooter or wannabe Genius (or hey, maybe even the real Geniuses use it).
As good as it was though, it apparently wasn’t tailored enough toward IT pros — so the developer just released TeamViewer Host. The new version restricts communication one-way, know-it-all to bewildered user; for instance, it’ll automatically run in the background (as opposed to needing to be launched manually), and it only allows incoming connections (instead of two way) and nixes the earlier versions. Check out the dev’s website for the full skinny.

I’ve been waiting for TeamViewer Host to come to the Mac for the longest time! Thanks.
Hello Eli,
Thanks for your great post about TeamViewer Host for Mac. Next to your post the new Host includes login/logout (user authentification) and remote reboot features. We hope we can facilitate everybody out there the “supporter”-life with our software.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
