I have been trying to get Geek Tool under my belt for about a year, I’m NOT a coder so it can be a bit tricky but once you understand the basics it’s easy enough. I wrote a super cool post about it on my posterous site here (if you’re at all interested):

Um… @b25fec36ff2e42c858bf8ff8be4dcada:disqus did you actually watch the video, my fellow SAfer? Take a look at my post if you want to see more.

Since GeekTool is more a less a rebuild of conky and the underlying UNIX-commands are mostly also available on OSX, the interested people can find nice pieces of work all around the web (ie.

    Hi @boastboy:disqus

Didn’t watch the vid, I don’t unless it is really important, watching vids costs money. :o(

I just made some custom iOS icons and applied them using the application Candybar.

When you download the script from the website, it downloads as a Geeklet file. You’ll have to open the Geeklet file, which should launch System Preferences and ask you if you want to use that Geeklet.

Does anyone know how to set this up for multiple screens? Is there any option to pin a Geeklet to a corner of the screen?

  11. boastboy says:

    Ah… apologies… spanking desktop!
And sad that we’ve got to think twice about the cost of watching vids?

  12. Bobacks says:

Works well in multiple screens. It’s just a matter of dragging the Geeklet to its new position on the 2nd/3rd screen. Or you can enter the pixel positions manually.

That’s exactly what I was doing. I even tried copy and paste, with no success.

    Hello Michael,

My friend has a PC laptop from work and an 21 inch iMac at home.  Can he connect his PC laptop and make the iMac a secondary screen?

    Thanks
