If you’re a Mac developer hoping to squeeze some more sales out of your software by bringing it to the Mac App Store, rev up your engines: Apple has notified developers that they are now accepting submissions.

In an email sent out to developers, Apple writes:

“The Mac App Store will be opening soon. You can get ready by submitting your Mac apps for review now. Log in to the Mac Dev Center for details on setting up an iTunes Connect account, creating Apple-issued Mac Distribution Certificates, and preparing your apps for the review process.”

There’s no rigid launch date for the Mac App Store, but Steve Jobs promised it would launch on Snow Leopard within 90 days, so this puts the Mac App Store at least one step closer to shooting down the Software Update pipeline.

As for developers who want to have their software on the Mac App Store at launch, make sure to read the guidelines… there’s a lot of them.
