For fans of simple, elegant desktop wallpapers on the Mac, make sure to check out the newly-released Simple Desktops app in the Mac App Store.
Based off the simpledesktops.com website, the Simple Desktops app for the Mac sits in the menubar and allows you to easily cycle through wallpapers featured on the site.
“Subtle and simple, the entire app lives in the menubar, so there’s no need for any fussy management. It shows the latest five desktops and gives attribution to the artists who created them.”

Like the theme of the wallpapers themselves, the Simple Desktops app is dead simple to use. The main draw is that you can easily cycle through wallpapers with a few, simple keystrokes.
The menubar app’s preferences let you automatically cycle through wallpapers at certain time intervals, and the last five wallpapers to be featured on the site are displayed in the app’s dropdown window for quick selection.
Simple Desktops for Mac is available for $3.99 in the Mac App Store.

I have just visited Mac store after reading your article. Really an awesome journey that was! Im done this because your explanation is quite healthy enough. I would love to explain it to my friends also. Thank you for such a nice post.
$3.99?? I barely see my wallpaper and there are millions out there for free.
Sorry, but $3.99 for a wallpaper management app?!?
Anyway, I prefer having wallpapers that mean something to me personally, so I use photos from my collection of travels around Europe. I’ve got thousands and it takes all of 3 seconds to change to a new one when I’m bored with the current one. That way I have a truly personal wallpaper
For those of you who don’t want to pay $3.99 for the app, you could just visit the website. ;)
Wallpaper “apps” are the lowest of the low IMO.
They shouldn’t even be allowed in the app store. They aren’t apps. They are one of the main reasons app stores are full of crap.
$4 isn’t that much….but C’mon…Desktop wallpaper is like water..who pays for it?
