Daily Deals: MacBook Pro, MacBook and iPod touch

We close the week with a familiar trio: MacBook Pros (2.66GHz 17-inch screen), more MacBooks (13.3-inch 2.4GHz) from the Apple Store, and the iPod touch ($149 for an 8GB). Along the way, we also offer a laptop case for your MacBook, plus the MyPlaylists app for your iPod touch or iPhone.

Expercom offers the uni-body Apple MacBook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66GHz 17″ Widescreen Notebook, model no. MB604LL/A, upgraded with a 500GB 5400 rpm hard drive, for $1,998 plus around $11 for shipping. (That’s $100 under our September mention and the lowest total price we’ve seen for this configuration.) It features an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66GHz dual-core processor, 17″ 1920×1200 LED-backlit glossy display, 4GB PC3-8500 DDR3-1066 RAM, 500GB 5400 rpm Serial ATA hard drive, 8x SuperDrive, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M on-board video and 9600M GT 512MB graphics card, built-in iSight camera, 802.11n wireless, Bluetooth, up to 8 hours of battery life, and more. Deal ends October 15.

The Apple Store has eight factory-refurbished previous-generation and current-generation MacBook notebooks in its Special Deals section. (Click “MacBook” on the left to find them.) [All are at lowest-we-could-find prices and come with a 1-year Apple warranty, the same as new Macs. Sales tax is added where applicable.] Items are removed from Apple’s site when they sell out. The Apple Store still offers discounted pricing on its factory-refurbished, 2nd-generation Apple iPod touch MP3 players. (With free shipping, all are at the lowest total price we’ve seen, most by a significant margin.) A 1-year Apple warranty applies, the same as new iPods. Sales tax is added where applicable. The refurbs:

With activation of new voice and data plans, AT&T Wireless has refurbished models of the Apple iPhone 3G on sale, with prices starting at $49 with free shipping via 2-day delivery. (Each is $50 off and tied with last week’s mention as the lowest total price we’ve seen for these refurbished iPhones.) Sales tax is added where applicable. It features compatibility with AT&T’s 3G network, built-in GPS navigation with Google Maps, enhanced enterprise support, a 3.5″ touch screen, at least 5 hours of talk time, and more. Note that a $36 activation fee applies. The deals:

Expercom offers the now discontinued Apple TV 40GB, model no. MA711LL/A, for $189 with shipping around $10. (Although it’s $50 more than what Apple charges for a refurbished unit, it’s one of the few instances where we’ve seen a new model in-stock.) This media streaming device displays 720p widescreen video and features a 40GB hard drive, 802.11g and 802.11n wireless, Ethernet, and HDMI, component video, and RCA audio outputs. Deal ends October 15.

The iTunes App Store offers downloads of Jonathan Teboul’s MyPlaylists for iPhone / iPod touch for free. (That’s a $1 drop and the lowest price we’ve seen for this app.)

Offer expires October 15.

Dell Small Business offers the Western Digital MyBook Home Edition 1TB eSATA / FireWire / USB 2.0 External Hard Drive, model no. WDH1CS10000N, for $99.99 with free shipping ($0.10/GB). [That's that's tied with our September mention as the lowest total price we've seen by $2.] Sales tax is added where applicable. This drive runs at 5400 rpm.

Logitech offers several “dented box” electronics and accessories at lowest-we-could-find prices, as listed below. Of note, although the box may be scratched or dented, the contents are new with a full Logitech warranty. The deals:
