If there’s a good thing about the recession, it seems to be bringing some fine Apple memorabilia out of storerooms and closets.

What’s on the block:

If – like me – your fridge is black, then these shiny iPhone app fridge magnets from Jailbreak Collective will look very smart indeed displayed on the door.

Does your digital camera take extreme photographs? Ever wish you had a camera that could take more punishment than falling off a coffee table? Maybe Casio’s EX-G1 is the camera for you. Introduced Wednesday, the brightly-colored EX-G1 is more than just another flashy digital camera. Casio bills the EX-G1 as the world’s first waterproof and shockproof digital camera.

The EX-G1 is part of the company’s Exilim G line of “endurance” cameras aimed at athletic and adventuresome photographers. As such, the $300 EX-G1 is 0.78-inches thick and able to withstand drops from 7 feet. Casio also claims the camera can withstand being 10-feet underwater for up to a full hour.

Aside from this ‘takes a beating and keeps on ticking’ mantra, the EX-G1 shoots at 12.1 megapixel resolution and includes a 3x optical zoom and reinforced 2.5-inch rear LCD. The camera also offers a microSDHC slot and intelligent autofocus.

Lately, the feature de-jour is still cameras that also shoot video. The EX-G1 isn’t alone there. The device records 848×480 video at 30 frames-per-second.

The EX-G1 comes in red or black and will be available in December.

And why is this on Cult of Mac, if I may ask please ?

It might also be worth pointing out that it most definitely isn’t the world’s first waterproof and shockproof digital camera. Just about every other camera manufacturer has produced them for quite a while.

Check out the Olympus Stylus Tough Series: Waterproof / Shockproof / Freezeproof / Crushproof / and just plain cool.
