Apple is on track to launch another flagship retail store in Grand Central Station, New York. This store location has been rumored to be in the works for the past year, and Apple could see approval to begin construction as soon as next week.
Apple’s last earnings call echoed the company’s desire for aggressive retail expansion, and this upcoming Grand Central Station store will most likely prove to be a very profitable business venture.
The new store will simply be called, “Apple Store, Grand Central,” and it is set to be Apple’s largest retail store in the world. Prior to construction, London’s Convent Garden Apple store holds the title as Apple’s largest retail location.
The New York Times reports,
“When Apple proposed opening a store on the balcony overlooking the main hall, it submitted its bid in linen-lined boxes, as if it were a wedding present to transit officials, a source familiar with the application process said. The board is expected to approve the deal as early as next week, at its monthly board meeting.”
“Apple Store, Grand Central” will allow the 700,000 customers that pass through the terminal each day access to Apple’s products and customer support.
As if Apple didn’t already have enough money in the bank.

Apple can never have enough money in the bank thanks to Wall Street’s unfair view of Apple.
Come on, baby. Put that store in a position where millions of commuters will have to pass by every day and be lured by Apple products. It’ll be one of the biggest hangouts in NYC and the landlords of GCT are going to make money like crazy. The Apple store will be a huge draw for all the establishments in GCT. I can’t wait. There should be more than enough room in GCT for consumers to stand on line for Apple product releases. All nice and cozy, protected from the elements. I hope that if Microsoft tries to open a retail store there, they’re told that’s there’s no vacancies for Wintards.
But then where will all the homeless sleep at night!? And will they be allowed to use all the demos?
