Here’s a mockup of the iPhone 5 spy pic posted to the MacRumors forums, courtesy of another forum member.
As you can see, it looks just like the iPhone 4, but thinner. There’s also no tapering or plastic back, as previous rumors have suggested.
Leander Kahney is the editor and publisher of Cult of Mac.
Leander is a longtime technology reporter and the author of six acclaimed books about Apple, including two New York Times bestsellers: Jony Ive: The Genius Behind Apple’s Greatest Products and Inside Steve’s Brain, a biography of Steve Jobs.
He’s also written a top-selling biography of Apple CEO Tim Cook and authored Cult of Mac and Cult of iPod, which both won prestigious design awards. Most recently, he was co-author of Cult of Mac, 2nd Edition.
Leander has been reporting about Apple and technology for nearly 30 years.
Before founding Cult of Mac as an independent publication, Leander was news editor at Wired.com, where he was responsible for the day-to-day running of the Wired.com website. He headed up a team of six section editors, a dozen reporters and a large pool of freelancers. Together the team produced a daily digest of stories about the impact of science and technology, and won several awards, including several Webby Awards, 2X Knight-Batten Awards for Innovation in Journalism and the 2010 MIN (Magazine Industry Newsletter) award for best blog, among others.
Before being promoted to news editor, Leander was Wired.com’s senior reporter, primarily covering Apple. During that time, Leander published a ton of scoops, including the first in-depth report about the development of the iPod. Leander attended almost every keynote speech and special product launch presented by Steve Jobs, including the historic launches of the iPhone and iPad. He also reported from almost every Macworld Expo in the late ’90s and early ‘2000s, including, sadly, the last shows in Boston, San Francisco and Tokyo. His reporting for Wired.com formed the basis of the first Cult of Mac book, and subsequently this website.
Before joining Wired, Leander was a senior reporter at the legendary MacWeek, the storied and long-running weekly that documented Apple and its community in the 1980s and ’90s.
Leander has written for Wired magazine (including the Issue 16.04 cover story about Steve Jobs’ leadership at Apple, entitled Evil/Genius), Scientific American, The Guardian, The Observer, The San Francisco Chronicle and many other publications.
Leander has a postgrad diploma in artificial intelligence from the University of Aberdeen, and a BSc (Hons) in experimental psychology from the University of Sussex.
He has a diploma in journalism from the UK’s National Council for the Training of Journalists.
Leander lives in San Francisco, California, and is married with four children. He’s an avid biker and has ridden in many long-distance bike events, including California’s legendary Death Ride.

Stop it!, just stop it!
From a pure visual perspective, I still like the 3G best-it’s elegant and pretty.
Looks sleek. I can live with that design.
The screen size seems to be the same…
Isn’t it just Iphone 4 pic resized vertically?
This is not a real photo, I just took an Iphone 4 and took the middle out and removed the buttons.
Not sure I like the way it tapers in at the top, might be difficult to hold..
Its fake it has been proven on macrumors forum. FAKE people move along.
Breaking news!
Here’s my mockup of the iPhone 5:

It’s a fake, it only takes 30 seconds to fix that in photoshop… It’s a slimmed down iPhone 4, try yourself :P
unlikely
Can………can it be?
2 Likes? What part of ‘mockup’ don’t people get? (this goes for the comments below also)
mockup = not the real phone, not a real picture
Prefer this concept to the thicker, “bubble butt” one making the rounds earlier this week. Still, it’s a concept based on a blurry photo of a fake iPhone. Give me the real thing, or I’m not getting that excited.
I like it fine. I “hope” its as big as the Samsung Galaxy IIs. I thought that the Galaxy would be too large, but it’s surprisingly very pocketable, thin and light. You really have no hold it, and try putting it in your pocket. I was very surprised, it in no way seemed overly large, bulky or heavy. I’m an iPhone guy and not interested in Android, but the Galaxy IIs hardware is nice – very nice. I’m just sayin’.
I quite like the extra screen real estate. We probably won’t see an iPhone that size due to resolution issues etc. and in no way do we want developers repurposing their apps. I realize that not everyone would want the larger size but I do.

I just paid $21.87 for an iPaad2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $657 which only cost me $62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, http://to.ly/aT8h
Smexy, however I really doubt they will remove the volume controls unless they are on the other side of the phone now.
Check out this great apple blog!
