One week after surprising us with the seventh beta of iOS 10, Apple is back with yet another beta build of its upcoming software update for iPhones and iPads.
Both developers and public testers can download iOS 10 beta 8 to their devices this morning, bringing a fresh batch of performance improvements and critical bug fixes that will hopefully make your device run smoother than ever.
The iOS 10 beta 8 release is accompanied by the seventh beta of tvOS 10. The release notes for both new updates offer zero clues as to whether some major new features were added, though considering how deep we are into the development phase, it’s unlikely Apple will add anything big.
The last few iOS 10 beta builds have mostly focused on under-the-hood improvements, though Apple has added some small tweaks, like over 100 gender-diverse emoji, a new lock sound, Control Center tweaks, and other small changes.
Testers can install iOS 10 beta 8 via an over-the-air update if you have the previous beta installed, or by downloading the restore image for your device directly from the Apple Developer Center and then install it through iTunes. To get the new tvOS 10 beta, just follow our guide on how to install without plugging your Apple TV into your Mac.
