Why I won’t ditch my iPhone SE to go back to a bigger handset

Keeping the SE
You’ll have to pry the iPhone SE out of my tiny hands.

For the last year and a half I’ve been using the massive iPhone 6 Plus. I love its 5.5-inch screen for watching videos, checking my social media pages, and browsing the web.

But after spending the last week with the diminutive, 4-inch iPhone SE, my thoughts on whether I need such a big phone have changed.

Check out my reasons below.

For one thing, I hadn’t realized how much I had missed the iPhone 5’s form factor. Being able to fit a phone in my pocket with ease, and use it one-handed, turns out to be more of an important feature than many of us thought in our rush to embrace phablets.

With the decision to sell my iPhone 6 Plus, not only will it pay for my shiny new SE, but I’ll even have some cash left over to put toward the iPad Pro I purchased recently.

In all, I can truly say I’m happy with the smaller screen and won’t regret parting with Apple’s larger flagship iPhone — at least not until the iPhone 7 comes along.

Carnie- small hands, smells like cabbage.

  2. I actually did the same thing. I sold my 6s, and got an SE. I love the design, which isn’t really much thicker than the 6s (.5 mm difference). The keyboard is a bit cramped, but I am getting used to it again. I too love that it fits in my pocket much more easily. The best part is, its just as fast or faster than my 6s. 3D Touch? Who cares. I didn’t use it anyways.

With delivery dates a month out, it appears a lot of people have gotten smart for a change.

I’ve hated the 6 and 6s button placement ever since I got them. Much prefer the sleep/wake button on top. Can’t wait to ditch my 6s and get the SE.

Some of those arguments wouldn’t apply if he were comparing the SE with the 6s plus. Older models are slower.

I agree! For all the same reasons.

The smaller form factor, excellent camera and when making a call, the reported voice quality noticeably better over my newer android devices. Then there is the price. Apple scores a win with the SE for me.

Couldn’t disagree more. Waiting for the 7 is the way to go.

“Never ask what I would do. Just do what’s right” is set-aside for now. In a nutshell, Jobs is back. If there are enough die-hards about, his 3-piece suit will cannibalize Samsung’s bowl and backside in two shakes.

No big deal for girls since most of us carry purses.
