Griffin Technology introduced several new products ahead of CES 2016 that aim to improve the way you charge your Apple devices. A prominent pick is a tiny portable battery called the Travel Power Bank that delivers much needed on-the-go power to the often inadequate Apple Watch.
“With our compact, all-in-one battery and charging cable on hand, users can leave their Apple Watch charging cable safe at home with no worries about running out of power,” said Andrew Biddle, Category Manager of Power Products at Griffin Technology.
Unveiled at CES 2016, the Travel Power Bank is tiny enough to double as a keychain but is powerful enough to give your Apple Watch plenty of extra juice. In fact, it’ll charge the Watch up to four times before it needs a recharge of its own. Since the Watch’s battery life is generally regarded as just okay, Griffin’s latest Apple accessory seems like a must-have for power users.
In addition to that CES unveiling, Griffin also added two Apple Watch bands to its accessories lineup for people looking to personalize the Watch with something other than Apple’s own bands. The first is the Uptown Leather Band that double-wraps around your wrist. It’s made with genuine leather and a metal buckle, plus comes in multiple colors: toffee with a gold buckle, black with a silver buckle or ecru with a rose gold buckle. It only fits the 38 mm Watches.
The second option is the Trainer Watch Band. Coming in black, white, red and blue, the sporty silicone band should feel similar to Apple’s Sport band. It’s sweat-proof and has a brushed stainless steel buckle. Contrary to the Uptown Leather Band, the Trainer Watch Band will only fit 42 mm Watches.
Earlier today Griffin also revealed that the BreakSafe Magnetic USB-C cable, which essentially brings the function of Apple’s MagSafe to the 12-inch MacBook, will sell for $39.99 when it starts shipping in April.
The Travel Power Bank will get a release in the second quarter of 2016 for $69.99, while the Uptown Leather Band and Trainer Watch Band will both ship in Q3 2016. They’ll sell for $59.99 and $39.99, respectively.
Griffin Technology will have its own booth at CES this year, so you can check out some of these new products on display there.
