Microsoft’s rivalry with Apple heated up this year when the company opened a flagship store on Fifth Ave in New York that looks a lot like an Apple Store. In the spirit of Christmas though, the company is calling for peace, and to show they mean it, they sent their employees caroling to the Fifth Ave Apple Store.
In Microsoft’s new holiday ad, employees selected across the country gather at the new Microsoft 5th Ave Store and join NYC’s children’s youth choir to spread some holiday cheer. Their march ends at the steps of the iconic Apple Store on Fifth Ave where they sing “Let There Be Peace on Earth” before being rewarded with a rousing round of high-fives from the Apple gang.

The ad wasn’t entirely as impromptu as it appears. Microsoft had to get permission from Apple ahead of time to perform the song on the store’s plaza, reports AdAge. Due to NYC’s strict filming laws, Apple knew Microsoft would be filming something, but they didn’t know exactly what.

Obviously they’re not busy selling anything in their store so they have time to do this sort of thing.
ahahahah
Well Jony….You are just oh so very witty.
Fail!
Frankly this looks good for both Microsoft AND Apple. Microsoft isn’t Apple’s main problem these days – it’s Google. Office for iPad pro, with stage time, confirms that. And, this is at a retail level – seems a nice thing to have done.
Yeah, but Google is more of an enemy to Microsoft, than Apple. Just look at how much they support Apples platform. I don’t even know if Apple has any true enemies, because Microsoft soft supports there platform too.
I think Google is a threat to them both. For Apple, Google is constantly tugging at their customers – consumer, education and businesses – with their cloud/AI capabilities.
Well whoopy doo.
Very CLASSY act. Reminds me of the “I’m a Mac” Christmas ads of a few years ago.
Lame.
I’ve been so happy the two have gotten back together!
This is a very nice thing to do, but that ad looked a lot like an Apple ad. However, I still admire that they are trying to make peace.
Microsoft doing a GOOD commercial? Wait? This can’t be… Universe will implode! The apocalypse is coming.

In its current state there is no enemies to Apple. Somewhat Samsung for diluting iPhone brand image. Anyways people realized after using Samsung phones for some years…Otherwise there is no comparison to iPhone and iPad.
