When Apple enthusiastically introduced to the Apple Pencil in September, it left out one little detail – where we are supposed to put it.

SteelConnect, a company known for designing smart watch accessories, has come up with with a pencil holder that connects to the new iPad Pro. The Quarter provides a way to store the pencil, dock it in a ready position or keep the cap from getting misplaced while the pencil is charging elsewhere.

Apple users are used to a neatly designed, self-contained products, like the iPhone, but the introduction of a pencil as a companion to the iPad Pro – both products should be in our hands next month – disrupts what and how we carry accessories. Pens and pencils get lost easily and, quite honestly, we don’t care when they go missing.

But at $99, you don’t want to misplace the Apple Pencil. SteelConnect hopes to ship by December.

The Quarter can hold the Apple Pencil three different ways. Here, the iPad charging cord is threaded through the holder.

The Quarter is currently featured on Kickstarter, where SteelConnect will provide it to Early Bird backers for $8.

The Quarter plugs into the charging port. It can hold the pencil flat across the top of the iPad for easy storage. There is also another opening that lets you dock the pencil upright. The iPad Pro’s charging cord can also be threaded through the plug while still providing a place for the pencil to rest.

When it’s time for the pencil to charge, the Quarter has a place for the cap so that it is less likely to get misplaced.

Who else thought this was going to be a dirty thing?

  2. This is something really interesting that is worth paying your attention right now,a superb online opportunity to work for those people who want to use their free time so that they can make some extra money using their computers… I have been working on this for last two and half years and I am earning 60-90 dollar/ hour … In the past week I have earned 13,70 dollars for almost 20 hours sitting ….

Specific qualification, degree or skills is not necessary for this, just keyboard typing and a good working and reliable internet connection ….

Any Time limitations or boundations to start work is not required … You may do this work at any time when you willing to do it ….

How I have been doing this?…..….see this (site-Iink) on my !profile!` to know how I am working` on this`

I was kinda hope it’d charge when not in use with this tool…while it’d not be hard to make, it’d require some extra work and might cost a bit more.

You mean someone figured out how to use a very long pencil and the concept of torque to destroy your sole charging and data port. Congratualtions.

FUGLY, why not a side mount with the pencil going vertically along the side? (SARC. font) ;-)

Why didn’t Apple just put the Lightning connector on a 45 degree hinge so it could sit upright from the port?

The best way to charge the Apple Pencil I have seen yet is from Moxiware. They have a beautiful charging dock that is also a Pencil Holder.
