Force Touch was only the beginning. 3D Touch was incredibly difficult to engineer.
Here comes iOS 9.

App makers who are part of Apple’s Developer program can now download the latest iOS 9.1 beta, build 13B5110e, from the Apple Developer page right now.

iOS 9 beta 5 came out a scant month ago, including a new set of wallpapers, some welcome improvements to Apple Music and more new treasures.

The new iOS 9.1 beta has a broken link to its release notes, so we’re not utterly sure what’s new in this iteration of Apple’s flagship mobile operating system, but we can assume that many of the features in today’s Apple Event will figure in the release, including code for 3D touch, perhaps.

We’ll update as we know more, but if you make apps for iOS, now’s your chance to get the new beta.

Get it while it's hot.
