It’s iPhone rumor season which means concept artists are busting out their best guesses as to what Jony Ive’s next smartphone design changes might entail. We’ve already seen some super thin iPhone redesigns, but concept designers Ivo Marić and Tomislav have taken a different approach.
Instead of changing the iPhone’s form factor, the designers’ iPhone 7 concept looks just like an iPhone 6. It comes with all the features we’d expect to see — sapphire glass, an A10 processor, 16 Megapixel camera sensor, QHD Retina display — but the duo have dreamed up a super special wireless dock that does a lot more than just wireless charging.
Check it out:

Just what I want, another charger to buy. No thanks. Plugging in a phone isn’t that hard.
Everyone says that until they’ve experienced wireless charging.
And then still prefers to plug in their phone. Unless you carry around a wireless charger, one less place to plug in your phone isn’t a big deal.
As if one is in lieu of the other. Charge wireless at home, and with the plug in the car and anywhere else. It’s still a nice feature to have.
Until it’s everywhere, it’s just a mostly useless feature, like most of the crapware on Samsung’s phones.
Agreed
If it was a contactless charger then that would be cool. Just set your iPhone within a foot or two of the dock to charge. I don’t understand the “sync all your files” part since iCloud already does that.
It’s syncing with the computer. It’s vague, but it’s new if it isn’t just iTunes.
If the iPhone 7 looks like this, it will be a loser. I’ve always hated how much screen space the front bezels take up that house the earpiece, camera, and home button. Let’s get hepatic touch, larger screen (think iPhone 6 without the bezels and almost edge-to-edge screen), better front camera, fast processor, more RAM, more storage, louder speaker, larger/longer ear hole, get rid of the ugly antenna lines, allow the Apple Logo on the back to glow when receiving a call/text (and option to turn it off), oh and wireless charging……….maybe even a removable battery.
Nah, it’ll still sell a ton. And a removable battery is never going to happen; get over it.
“If they release the iPhone 6 with those ugly antenna bands, it will be a loser.”
And the dance continues.
no shit! it’s 2015 almost 2016 and they still can’t adopt current tech…don’t care about the batter but the bezel, speakers, haptic are definitely long overdue
Wow…that looks just like a Galaxy S6 with Samsung’s wireless charging dock. Seriously, I love my iPad, but we need to appreciate when some design has already been done and not just fangirl over the fact that Apple could be the one making it next.
No one is “fangirling”. Try again, Samsung troll.
I’m not a troll, I’m simply saying that all of this hype over “look at this beautiful Apple design, it would be amazing!” needs to stop when the same people don’t appreciate that other companies already make that design.
Nah, you’re just looking for a reason to be offended. Typical troll.
Yeah because Apple has never designed a phone with a glass back.
Idiot.
Really, is calling me an idiot appropriate here?
The S6 and iPhone 6 share a lot of aesthetic properties, but the idea that Apple making a glass-backed phone just like the S6, and giving it wireless charging just like the S6, would be somehow new and great is wrong. I like Apple products. I use them. Sometimes, though, we need to admit that other companies come up with good design too, and it’s not just “Oh, this looks good because Apple might do it.”
The iPhone 4, 4S, 5 and 5s all had glass backs! Also as Apple is part of the wireless alliance its not so far fetched.
It’s definitely not far-fetched. It would look nice. But still, we have to give credit where credit is due, and Samsung came up with this aluminum, glass-backed, shiny wireless charging station idea first.
Again with the concepts. This one comes with an ice cream dispenser! This one is shaped like a balloon! It’s just an easy way to get free publicity for your design studio.
Lets get through the 6S iPhone first, see ya next year i7
What I want is truly wireless charging, IE having your phone ~3 feet away will charge it, not just a pad that you set your phone on. That’s just an extra millisecond not wasted on unplugging your phone.
