Pebble Watch fans have been absolutely freaking out on Twitter the last few days due to a delay with the Pebble Time app for iOS getting delayed in the App Store approval process.

After sitting in ‘pending approval’ since May 22nd, Pebble fans rallied around the #FreeOurPebbleTime hashtag to get their voices heard by Apple, but everyone can stop their whining, because the Pebble Time app for iPhone is finally available for download.

Pebble updated its Kickstarter page today announcing the availability of the Pebble Time iOS app. The company won’t say why there was a slight delay in the approval of the app. We doubt the approval had anything to do with Pebble fanboys complaining on Twitter, but that’s not stopping the company from patting itself on the back for complaining about the lengthy review process.

“We thank Apple for honoring the people who love both their Pebble watches and Apple devices,” Pebble posted in an update. “Apple’s attentiveness to the community means iOS Pebblers with iPhones can now enjoy both their Kickstarter rewards and Pebble’s awesome iOS-compatible apps. We’re glad to have Apple be a part of Pebble’s journey then, now, and into the future.”

iPhone owners can now download the Pebble Time app in the App Store for free, though it may take a few hours for it to propagate into your country’s store. Here’s a list of the new app’s features:

    • Brand-new app for setting up and managing your Pebble Time and Pebble Time Steel smartwatch.
    • Create a Pebble account or access an existing one.
    • Browse, get, and share Pebble Time apps and watchfaces on the Pebble appstore, right from the app.
    • Load watchapps onto your Pebble Time watch and organize them from My Pebble.
    • Find watchfaces and apps optimized for Pebble Time watch’s color display and timeline interface.
    • Discover new and popular watchapps by category: Notifications, Daily, Fitness, Games, Remotes, and Tools & Utilities.
    • Support for Pebble Time data sources (e.g. Timeline-based apps, weather/sports data, and more).
    • Manage over-the-air software updates for your Pebble Time watch as new features and improvements happen.
    • Contact Support, manage Settings, browse resources, find community links, and share suggestions with Team Pebble directly.
    • New My Pebble layout – Organize what’s on your Pebble Time watch by Watchfaces and Apps/Timeline.
    • Dragging downloaded watchapps within the menu reorders them and syncs the changes to your Pebble (woo-hoo!).
    • My Pebble info cards – Toggle settings, set as active watchface, contact developer, and more by tapping any item within My Pebble.
    • Quick watchface management – In My Pebble, the watchface with the green checkmark is the one currently active on your watch.
    • Quickly change the active watchface by tapping the empty circle of another watchface in the menu.
    • Enjoy it all – supports both new Pebble Time watchapps AND all items currently available in the Pebble appstore.

  1. The real problem for Pebble Time users is the watch itself. It does lots of things, but none of them particularly well.

  2. Carlos says:

since April the pebble app was on review for a bug fix, Apple release that as well. after 45 days!!, finally!!!

  3. FriarNurgle says:

Still on fence on if I should sell my Pebble when is shows up.

    • James Alexander says:

If you have an iPhone I would go for the Apple Watch if you did not already get one.

    • Carlos says:

I almost got one iwatch, but I am waiting for it to have better apps and system. For example
      1. in my country we don’t have applePay,
      2. I don’t like taking to my wrist,
      3. here we use whatsapp, not iMessage, so, still waiting for the whatsapp people doing the watchapp to answer to notifications and send messages
      4. iPhone is the most popular smartphone in the U.S., not here where I leave. here most people won’t need the iwatch, so I won’t be able to try all those cool features that only works between iwatches

at the end, the pebble does everything I need using my iPhone.

      • Kr00 says:

        1. It’s called an Apple watch, not an iwatch.
        2. Apple pay not in you country isn’t Apples fault.
        3. You don’t have to talk into your watch if you don’t want to.
        4. Contact Whatsapp about your problem, again, not Apple problem.
        5. You can send animated emojis to anyone from the watch.
        6. If Peebles does what you need, why come here and bitch about the Apple Watch?
        FFS

      • Anthony Snyder says:

He’s not bitching about the Apple Watch. He’s just explaining why he chose to buy the Pebble watch first.

      • Kr00 says:

I think if you read his dot points, they are all complaints. I’m sure his pebble watch won’t do any of those things he was moaning about the Apple Watch not doing, but I’m pretty sure the Apple watch will do all the things the pebble watch can do. Rather a stupid argument really.

      • Cory says:

        1. Oh shove it.
        2. Actually it is Apples fault..
You are a low IQ American

      • mobilemann says:

What do you do with your phone? I only ask because I control media servers, my security software, full home automation integrated with siri, and i’ve done it with android too; but people who make these kinds of comments are generally stupid little kids who freak out about whatever brand their parent’s bought them. Like you.

      • Kr00 says:

You have nothing better to do than to follow all my comments? What a sad little life you have there chump.

      • amcmo says:

        And what country?

  4. Royce says:

It’s not “whining”, it’s COMPLAINING, which was absolutely JUSTIFIED because Apple is afraid of the competition and was not going to let the Pebble Time app out of purgatory without us – the Pebblers.

    Sincerely,
Someone counting down to Pebble Time Pre-Orders.

    • stanhope says:

I hate to tell you this but the Pebble is NOT competition for the Apple watch….as my English lit teacher once said, it is like comparing lightning to the lightning bug.

      • Royce says:

And I hate to tell you this but technically, any product in the same market as the Apple Watch is considered competition. Even Samsung’s lousy half-baked attempts at a smartwatch. BTW, the only 2 things missing in the Pebble Time that are in the Apple Watch (that I actually care about) are the Taptic Feedback and the built-in heart rate monitor (and other fitness things). So, would I rather get a Pebble Time for $200 which has everything I need, or an Apple Watch for $507.37 (Canadian, tax included) which has only 2 extra features that would be of any use to me? I’d sooner buy the more affordable Pebble Time, and whatever accessory I’d need to check my heart rate when training for my 5K.

Pebble Time seems like the logical choice. Sorry, not sorry.

        Sincerely,
        Sensible, financially smart person

      • stanhope says:

No doubt you hate being wrong but by this point it should be your familiar friend. I suppose, in your line of thinking a donkey is competition with a Maserati as they both will get you places LMAO LMAO LMAO a sensible, financially smart person…..LMAO

      • Royce says:

No. A Maserati compared to a SMART car would still be WRONG because SMART cars are not LUXURY vehicles. What I meant was that the Apple Watch is NOT a luxury item and should not be priced as such. It has inferior battery life to the Pebble Time. Technically, if you look in the “smartwatches” section of any tech news website, sure enough the Pebble Time is in there along with the Apple Watch. And yes, I’m financially smart because I wouldn’t waste over $500 (remember, I’m in Canada) on a watch that does a few extra things and has a crappy battery until I heard from people I know that they could justify buying it. Which, so far, one of my teachers has told me that he CANNOT justify the “insane amount of money” that it cost. His words, not mine.

I don’t hate being wrong. I hate being told I’m wrong when I’m not. I also hate people who are quick to judge and assume.

        Sincerely,
Someone who knows that spending $500 on a watch is wasteful.

      • stanhope says:

Ok you have an abiding need to be right. I can afford to write the check that permits your delusion. For the record I have owned a Pebble and now own an Apple watch. Your claims are erroneous. Further “waste” as you use it is hysterical. It only speaks to your limited resources. To follow your thinking 2.3 million people who ordered thus far are crazy. You can have the last word on this as you have drifted into tedious territory. Be well with your rock oops pebble LOL

      • Royce says:

Well, it’s just my opinion. Some people have more money than I do, and I need to be savvy with the money I have – not enough to buy an Apple Watch at the moment. To me, it’s a waste when that $500 could be used for 5 months of groceries. I don’t need to be right, I just need to be understood. I’m glad you can AFFORD the Apple Watch.

If I were to get the Apple Watch, I’d wait until the 2nd iteration, when the original dropped in price. Then I’d buy the original.

What do you mean, “limited resources”? To me, they’re not limited. This is because I use my resources wisely.

I wish you all the best with your Apple Watch, and I hope you didn’t get one of the ones with the faulty Taptic Engine. Because that would suck, unless you got AppleCare.

Enjoy your Apple Watch. Just don’t use it when you’re driving your Maserati.

        Sincerely,
        Royce

    • joeinlaguna says:

lol, Apple could care less about this watch.

      • jmholmes83 says:

        *couldn’t
That’s a pet peeve of mine as the mistake completely changes the meaning of your statement.

  8. Considering Cult of Mac’s entire user base is built upon Apple enthusiasts, I’m surprised by your ignorance to Pebble’s enthusasts which you so ignorantly call “whining fanboys” when they’re just the equivalent to your Apple fans. I’m not a Pebble owner, nor do I want to be, but maybe a bit of respect to those who are to the Pebble as your readers are to Apple.

  9. scott ronan says:

The problem I have with the Apple Watch is the battery life and how water proof it is therefore I have decided to go with the Pebble Time. If I don’t like it I may sell it and go for the Apple Watch although version 2 might give me something more in line with what I need.
