If you haven’t already pre-ordered your gorgeous gold MacBook, you’re going to be waiting 3-4 weeks for it to ship. Initial supplies have already been claimed since the device went on sale this morning, but the silver and space gray models are still available in 1-3 days if you live in the U.S.

Thanks to all of the buzz surrounding the Apple Watch, Apple’s new MacBook isn’t getting a lot of attention, but it also went on sale through the Apple Online Store for the first time this morning, with prices starting at $1,299.

Almost 7 hours later, the silver and space gray models are still available with fairly speedy shipping (1-3 business days), but the seemingly more popular gold model won’t be available for 3-4 weeks, no matter which storage and processor option you choose.

But of course, shipping times are different for each market, so this may not be the case where you live. In the U.K., for instance, shipping estimates for all three color options have now slipped to 4-6 weeks.

Unlike the Apple Watch, however, the new MacBook will also be available from Apple retail stores. If you don’t want to wait for shipping, then, you could visit your local store to see if they have the option you want in stock.

At the Apple Store I visited, that had demo models only, and tried to convince people that it would be better to order online. Personally, I’m going to wait a couple of months but damn, all three colors are gorgeous, and I found the demos to be fast, slick and robust. MacBooks have been getting a lot of negative feedback with the one port and all, but having tried them out, it’s not a stretch to predict the MacBook is going to be a success. People seemed fascinated with them. They may not be for everyone, but they’re attention grabbers.
