How much do you love the Apple Store? Enough to drop $495,000 to buy an apartment right above one? Then boy, do we have the right real estate deal for you.
Gary Allen over at the excellent ifo Apple Store blog spotted this incredible apartment up for sale in Australia, perfect for the ultimate Apple fan.

The fully-furnished two-bedroom, two-bath apartment is on the 7th floor of the MacArthur’s Chambers building in central Brisbane, and includes major appliances. The building was occupied by the U.S. military during World War II as Gen. Douglas MacArthur’s pacific headquarters. Besides the ground-level Apple store and upper-floor residences, the building now includes a museum dedicated to the army occupancy. The sales price includes one space in an underground car park.
Want to treat the Apple Store Genius Bar like a real bar (sans booze, of course) and be a regular there? You can just ride the elevator down to the ground floor and walk in. But you’ll pay for that luxury: The asking price for the beautiful apartment is nearly half a million dollars.

As Allen points out, the Brisbane apartment isn’t the only one above an Apple Store worldwide. Other Apple Store buildings with residential space exist in Berlin, Paris and Edinburgh. But those apartments aren’t on the market right now, and this one is. In an English-speaking country, no less!
You can download the real estate brochure for the apartment and watch a video slideshow.

I could certainly live there absolutely beautiful apartment.
I think there must be zero missing, 500k seems like a bargain for such a beautiful apartment in that location.
May I assume you live in the SF Bay Area or Manhattan? That apartment wouldn’t fetch $495,000 here in Sacramento or most of the country.
Free Wi-Fi!!
I just was thinking the same thing!!!!!!
The ‘Mac’Arthur building was always going to be ironic for the Brizzie Apple Store. The ‘app’artments are very small though. Sorry for the puns. irresistible. If you don’t already know, it was General Macarthur’s Asia HQ during WWII. There are better apartments in the city for that price, with more space. But it’s so central and with Woolies in the basement. The Apple Store is a magnificent restoration but doesn’t seems to be very busy. The Apple stores in the suburban malls and Apple plots in the city centre department stores are more patronised.
funny how this article makes such a big deal about “half a million dollars” for the apartment. That’s not expensive at all. This is Australia, not Chicago / Atlanta / ten thousand other US cities! My crap house is nearly worth $500K in the suburbs.
