What Apple Watch Sport looks like with pricier bands

Apple will reveal pricing details on its long-anticipated smartwatch in less than a week, but if the stainless steel version costs upward of $700, I’m definitely going the cheap route with the Apple Watch Sport.

The $350 timepiece isn’t as fashionable as its expensive gold and stainless-steel siblings, a point Apple’s website emphasizes by only showing Sport units with Sport bands. But if you pair the Sport with pricier bands, you can barely tells its the el cheapo option.

iOS developer Nick McCardel created mockups of the Apple Watch Sport with bands for the Apple Watch and Apple Watch Edition. Despite its less luxe finish, the Sport’s silver and space gray aluminum cases still look great no matter what you pair them with.

Take a look at some of the configurations below:

I want the watch band that plucks your arm hairs out one by one.

I’d like to go with the space black sport case with the space black link if available in that combination.

So any bracelet will be compatible with any watch option?

Ah. Nice. I’m very interested in how the milanese feels and stays connected. I would probably want the standard buckle type as my primary band and the milanese as a fancy option if needed (and if it feels good).

Thanks for the link. I was hoping to get the space gray Sport, but it turns out it’s not as versatile as I’d hoped.

The milanese loop and leather loop would probably be my more formal band options, and those both look weird with the Sport’s matte aluminum. Might have to splurge on one of the stainless steels. Here’s hoping it’s not outrageously expensive.

I want the Sport model simply for lightness of weight. I’ve worn watches and they get heavy sitting on my wrist throughout the day. The space grey sport with the black sport band will be my everyday. I may go for a classic buckle band or the link bracelet to style it up. But mainly for the gym and carrying it around everyday… Sport. Also, I’ll probably want to upgrade every year or two, so I will not invest too much into each model.

Do what I do, buy the the model you want w/ Apple Care and then sell it the next year on craigslist. I almost always get 50% of what I paid for it. (with the subsidized iPhone it’s usually a wash and I pay nothing.)
