Apple came out on top of its legal battle against Samsung in U.S. federal court last week, and even though the iPhone-maker was ordered to pay a small fee to Samsung, the jury came back to the courthouse in San Jose CA this morning to award more damages to Apple.

The federal jury awarded Apple $4 million in additional damages this morning, after it was discovered last week that one Samsung product violated one patent, but the jury failed to award damages.

The jury took nearly two hours to reach its decision this morning after deliberating for three full days on the verdict last week, but the awarded sum is much less than the $2.2 billion Apple was arguing for.

Even though the jury awarded Apple an extra $4 million in damages, it also adjusted totals for other patent infringements so that the final amount of damages remain unchanged from Friday’s verdict. Apple and Samsung have both agreed to the jury’s numbers, allowing the jury to finally be dismissed.

For its part Apple has to pay $158,400 for infringing Samsung’s ‘449 patent in the countersuit, while Samsung’s total bill of damages tops $119 million.

The South Korean handset maker lost a similar patent lawsuit to Apple and was ordered to pay over $1 billion in damages back in 2012.
