Readdle has this week updated two of its most popular productivity apps for iOS, adding next-generation image processing to Scanner Pro, and a number of new features to Calendars 5. You can now enjoy much-improved scans with better legibility in the former, as well as task creation and an app icon badge in the latter.
Let’s start with Scanner Pro, which only got one new feature in its latest update, but it’s a big one. The app now feature’s next-generation image processing technology, which promises significantly cleaner and sharper scans that are more readable than ever before.
And if that wasn’t enough, Scanner Pro is currently half price for a limited time, so if you don’t already have it, now’s a great time to go buy it. It’s a great way to turn receipts, letters, and other documents into digital scans that can be easily organized on your iOS device.
In Calendars 5, which is arguably the best third-party Google Calendars app for iOS, you’ll find two new features that you’ve probably been waiting for since the day your bought the app. Those are simple task creation and a handy icon badge that shows the date.
Creating a task in Calendars 5 is now as easy as opening the “Create Event” panel and tapping the spacebar. You’ll then instantly switch from event creation to task creation, and you can quickly switch back again by tapping backspace.
Calendars 5 also has a new app badge, too, which displays the current date. To enable it, go into the app’s settings, then tap “view options” and select “app badge icon.” Finally, select “current day.”
