This is something we don’t see often enough: outside-the-box thinking applied to sports armbands for the iPhone. Digifit—an outfit we’ve covered before that makes fitness tracking devices and software—took the tired old bicep-hugging armband and slid it all the way down to the forearm; presto, no more yoga poses just to see your lap times.
Digifit’s $30 Saddle is a rubberized half-case attached to a mounting platform that attaches onto a forearm with rip-and-stick straps. If you’re using an ANT+ dongle to measure heart rate, there’s a little slot at the bottom where the 30-pin or Lightning port sits. That’s it.
It’s somewhat similar to the WristOffice, another smartphone-toting forearm strap. The WristOffice doesn’t have the protective rubber, but it can be rotated.
