Nomad Is A Stubby Lightning Cable That Hangs Off Your Keychanin

One of the unsung advantages of the iPhone’s crazy popularity is that you can almost always find a charger for it, whether from the lost property box at a hotel or from the guy at the next desk in your office.

But now that Lightning exists, things are more complicated, and a lot of the old 30-pin cables people were willing to lend out are now useless. So how about carrying your own? That’s the idea behind the Nomad cable, a three-inch stub which attaches to your keychain.

It’s actually a plastic cap that attaches to the keyring, and the cable’s USB plugs into that. At the other end you’ll find a Lightning plug, ready to connect your iPhone or iPad to any USB charger anywhere.

It’s certainly useful, but is it worth $25 to you? I’d say its a little expensive, but probably a good investment. I have a set of small, non-keychainable USB cables from Griffin and I carry them whenever I take a trip.

As opposed to finding a micro USB cable? I don’t think “advantage” is the correct word here.

The only thing I don’t like is that there’s no cover over the Lightning end.
