The official IMDb app for iOS had been given a number of new features today, including a new light theme on the iPad, and the ability to look up worldwide movie release dates, actor heights, “crazy credits,” and more. The update also makes some visual tweaks, and offers bug fixes that should improve stability.

Did you know that Kermit the Frog is 2.5-feet tall? Of course you didn’t, but you do know, thanks to IMDb’s new actor heights database. To find out how tall your favorite actor is just look them up and find the new ‘Personal Details’ section within their biography, which is where you’ll also see the new actor AKAs or aliases.

In addition to this, you’ll also find “crazy credits” for some movies, which is a little like the trivia information already provided. It offers interesting facts about the movie that fans are sure to enjoy.

There are also some changes that are device specific. The iPhone app has redesigned celebrity and movie pages that look far better than the old ones, while the iPad app has a new light theme for those who don’t like the dark one. The iPad app also allows you to sort your Watchlist by release date now.

The latest version of IMDb for iOS is available to download from the App Store now.
