Photojojo Zoom Lens Makes iPad Photography Even Dorkier

I almost never (except when shooting video) wish that I had a wider angle lens – it would just mean that I have to poke my camera even closer into the face of my subject. But I do often reach for the telephoto lens that isn’t there. After all, apart from a long lens’s ability to squish elements together in a picture, sometimes you just can’t walk any closer to your subject.

At those times, you can now reach for the iPad Telephoto lens for Photojojo.

You first thought will be "But it looks so dumb" and you will be right. But you know what else looks dumb? Taking pictures with your iPad in the first place. So suck it up and slide on the photo-bra (more dumbness) that holds the lens in place.

You can leave the bra showing at all times, unscrewing the lens when not needed. The iPad mini, like in so many things, has an advantage here – it packs a 12x magnification against the 10x of the big version.

I’, still waiting for Olloclip to come out with a telephoto for the iPhone, so I can slip it on, take pictures of the backs of people’s heads from miles away and call it "street" photography. Until then, I’ll dork out with the iPad Tele. Just $25.

iPad Mini version has 12x telephoto power
iPad 3 and 4 lens has 10x telephoto power

Using a lens to zoom lets you see farther without hurting photo quality

Adds vignetting, a lo-fi look and all around interest to your photos

Great for travel, concerts, landscapes, candid shots …

Lens unscrews from mount for easy storage
