If you’re not using 1Password on your Mac and iOS devices, you might as well just package up your bank and credit-card details, your passwords, your passport and your ID, and mail the parcel off to Russia or China, clearly marked “FAO: Identity Thieves. ”

If you are using 1Password, then you’ll be pleased to know that the Safari extension just got a great update. Sure, it brings lot of improvements under the hood, but what we’re interested is the new animated form filling.

Animated form-filling? Yup. Now, when you use the password manager to automatically fill out a form on a web page, that form will pulse and shrink back, as if it were the belly of a cartoon duck that had just swallowed a whole roast chicken. Or something. Joking aside, it’s a neat way to know just what has been filed in, and lets you know it has been done at all – today’s super-fast computers make these things easy to miss.

And you can also enjoy better filling of credit-card forms, a problem with some sites that until now has left you typing the number in manually, like an animal.

Best of all is the update process. Just open Safari’s preferences, head to the Extensions pane and you’ll see the new update right there, ready to be installed.
