LEGO The Lord Of The Rings For Mac OS X Out Now, But Not On Steam

You. Shall Not. Pass (the Steam store)!

You. Shall Not. Pass! (the Steam store)

We told you that LEGO The Lord of the Rings was coming out this week, but if you were waiting for it to show up on Steam, you might be as disappointed as I was when I went to check it out tonight. The Steam store entry for the video game only shows PC compatibility, making my poor Mac-loving head sad.

Luckily, though, you can purchase LEGO The Lord of the Rings via the Mac Game Store as well as directly from Feral Interactive, the studio that ported the game to Mac in the first place, for the same $30 as it would cost you on Steam.

This new LEGO game, set in The Lord of the Rings movie universe, will have real dialogue from the movies and a free roam mode that lets players run around Middle Earth, both departures for the series. The PC version of the game, released last November, has a Metacritic score of 80, so this is looking to be a good one.

If interested, grab your credit card, and head on over to the Mac Game Store, or the Feral Interactive store page, to get your LEGO-flavored Gandalf, Frodo, and Gollum fill.

We’ve reached out to Steam for comment.

Every other LEGO game has been the same, it’s no surprise this one isn’t on Steam…
