It’s a good day to be an employee at LinkedIn. The professional networking site just reported a great quarter with earnings that crushed Wall Street’s expectations.
Revenue growth is good, but so is free stuff. To reward his hard working people, LinkedIn CEO Jeff Weiner has decided to give every one of his 3,500 employees a free iPad mini.
“Weiner didn’t cheap out, either—one employee tells us they got the $429, 32-gigabyte model, not the less-expensive $329 model. At retail prices, that would cost around $1.5 million,” according to Business Insider. The official statement from LinkedIn:
We wanted to acknowledge the hard work and accomplishments of all of our employees in 2012. During today’s biweekly All Hands meeting, we surprised our employees with iPad Minis as a small gesture of the company’s gratitude for their contributions.

They will complain once the retina ones come out … hah… I’d like one since my LinkedIn profile was in the top 5% viewed profiles in 2012 :)
