MirrorCase For Stealthy iPhone Photo Snapping

What could be less creepy than secretly snapping close-up pictures of people without their knowledge? Nothing, that’s what. Well, not unless you do it whilst dressed as a clown I guess.

The MirrorCase is a hefty box that hangs off the back of your iPhone and uses an optical-grade mirror to let you shoot pictures at right angles to the screen.

The result is a little like using a reflex camera without the pentaprism – you may have seen those old medium-format film cameras which people peer into the top of. Only in this case the objective is sneaky stealth. When not snapping candid shots of pretty girls in the street, you could use the MirrorCase in more benign

scenarios. Snapping the dry-eraser board in class whilst taking notes, perhaps. Or keeping eye contact with kids while you shoot them.

Still, secret snapping is clearly the name of the game here, and to that end the companion app actually lets you swipe pictures from your camera roll onto the screen as you use it. So, just take a screenshot of the weather app or your mail client and pretend you’re not pointing that camera up a skirt.

The case is currently available for the iPhone 4/S, but will soon be coming to the 5, and to the iPad, which should make for a back-breaking proposition.
