Star Wars Angry Birds Might Be Coming On October 8th

How does an Angry Bird hold a lightsaber if they don’t have any hands? Maybe they’re able to use The Force and to help the weld a lightsaber and slice through mean little piggies. I don’t know. But we might find out real soon. On Twitter this morning Angry Birds posted a linkto their Tumblr where readers can find a GIF of an Angry Bird wearing a jedi cloak with a lightsaber.

The only info we’re given is, “Times Square, New York, October 8th, 10am EST. HINT: Head to Toys R Us at 8am EST!” Is Rovio launching a new Star Wars Angry Birds game, or will it just be Angry Birds Star Wars toys? Your guess is as good as ours.

I would like to see an Angry Birds Jedi edition, it would add a whole new element to game and a lightsaber is a lot of fun.

On a side note I did inquire and received a prompt reply from Rovio, Angry Birds (I do believe all of them) since that was my inquiry will be updated to support the new 4″ 640×1136 resolution screens soon. Obviously they couldn’t provide an exact date, but knowing its in the works was good enough for now.

There are a lot of apps that to me should be easily updated but haven’t (calculator apps, and the like) or apps that just release updates in the last day or two that have yet to support the new resolution. Perhaps they are stuck in process of being approved.

That they said come to Toys R Us tells me that some kind of toys is the more likely answer to the riddle. Perhaps tying into a game, perhaps not. But one thing that is certain if there is an Angry Birds Star Wars cross over they will sell it as a separate game and not the levels pack that it actually is. Just so they can try to get another spot on the top charts.
