Apple’s Podcast App Updated With iCloud Sync And iOS 6 Support

Along with iOS 6, and a Mountain Lion update, Apple has just pushed out an update for their new Podcast app for iOS. The update allows users to keep subscription up to date between iOS devices using iCloud. iOS 6 support has also been added to the app, along with a few other improvements.

Here are the full details for what’s new in Podcasts version 1.1:

• Automatically keep your podcast subscriptions up-to-date between devices using iCloud
• A new setting to choose to automatically download new episodes only when on Wi-Fi
• A new setting to choose whether to play episodes by oldest to newest or newest to oldest
• Pull to refresh a subscription to check for new episodes on iOS 6
• Additional performance and stability improvements

    Only iOS devices are kept up to date. No syncing to iTunes 11 or Apple TVs. Big fail. I often move between my Mac, iPad, Apple TV, and iPhone during the course of a two-hour Podcast like TWiT or Macbreak Weekly.
