How can I tell which I have?
iPhone 4 (iPhone3,1) version 6.0 (Build 10A403)
iPhone 4 (AT&T) (iPhone3,2) version 6.0 (Build 10A403)
same question!
I’m guessing
iPhone 4 (iPhone3,1) version 6.0 (Build 10A403)
is for non AT&T users outside of the US?
The AT&T iPhone 4 and the GSM Phones sold elsewhere are exactly the same. iPhone 3,1 is the GSM Model and 3,2 officially is the CDMA model. iPhone 3,3 actually is the 8GB version which is sold since the iPhone 4S (4,1) came out.
iPad3,2 is actually Verizon while iPad3,3 is actually AT&T. Download your ispw file accordingly.
Thanks guys!
Then why is iPhone 4 v”3,2″ listed as AT&T?
Thanks, I was looking for this!
Anything for PC??? =( I just downloaded the .zip file and… can’t find a way to install it. Any ideas?
Just rename the file extension from .zip to .ipsw, then it may work.
Ok, I actually decompressed all files
Thank you! I have to say I decompressed the .zip file first, but cannot find any files that can be either executed nor opened by iTunes or Quicktime.
I also did what you just adviced, but didn’t work either, it only “called” iTunes (which suddenly appeared on top of every other window), but nothing else happened.
Thank you for the advice, and… if you or anyone else have more ideas, I will gladly try them.
Ok, I found it! The idea of renaming the .zip file to .ipsw worked, but needed an extra step that I couldn’t figure out at first. I had to click the “Update” button in iTunes WHILE holding SHIFT key. Voilá! That opens a window to search for the update file, which is, precisely the .ipsw file I just renamed. Thank you very much, PanameraDev. I hope this helps some other PC uses, while they find the guts to change to an Apple desktop ;P
Which one would i download for my sprint iphone 4s?
its taking forever to download through itunes and on my phone and i keep getting an error.
What is the difference from downloading it through here or through itunes?
Ok, I have another question, now related to iPad. I tried updating from iTunes (using a PC) by changing the file extension from .zip to .ipsw. But it tells me the firmware version is not compatible with my iPad. Which leads me to ask… What iPad do I have??
I know I have an iPad 2. I have never used a SIM or phone card in it, so I suppose it is an “Ipad 2, WiFi”. But that’s the software I downloaded, and the one that didn’t work. Verizon and AT&T do not exist in my country, which makes me discard them at all. Finally… there is the “Ipad 2, 4” version of the software to download. How can I know if that “Ipad 2, 4” is the one I have? This is the first time I see a sub-models collection like this, and I am quite confused…
=|
P.S. I know I could just go on and download the next more suitable-to-be-the-right-one version of the software, but I am trying to save time and bandwidth here… its more than 800 MB… so, thank you in advance for any comments and ideas.
=)
iPhone3,1 is the original GSM iPhone 4. iPhone3,3 is the CDMA version for Verizon (I have iPhone3,3 files from the 4.2.x versions of iOS).
iPhone3,2 seems it *may* be the new “budget” 8GB iPhone 4. Odd that they’d do it this way, but 3,3 has been around a while and I just recently noticed 3,2.
I have iPhone 4S and iPad 3 Wi-Fi only. Can I use one download for both?
We didn’t need your help, because we’re not idiots that need hand-holding every step of the way like MacinTards
Holding OPTION and clicking update will allow you to locate the file on a mac.
i have iphone 4 (GSM) so plz tell me which one i can download.
1-iPhone 4 (iPhone3,1) version 6.0 (Build 10A403)
2-iPhone 4 (Verizon) (iPhone3,3) version 6.0 (Build 10A403)
3-iPhone 4 (AT&T) (iPhone3,2) version 6.0 (Build 10A403),

please help me guys…
when i clicked shift + update it started out normally but itunes denied to update…..
But, instead click shift + restore then it worked so i would recomend you to use shift + restore as shift + update might put your respected idevice into recovery mode
