Remember Samsung’s dishonest, offensive “It Doesn’t Take A Genius” ad that, as my colleague Alex heath wonderfully put it, tried to proclaim the Samsung Galaxy SIII to be a better handset than the iPhone 5 by making its “contrived spec list” longer?
Well, two can play at that game. If you’re going to selectively leave features off of one phone to make yours look like you can do more at it, well, we’re only a quick Photoshop away from turning the tables.
As a final note, I love what this ad says about Samsung. They still just don’t get it: they’re still playing the spec game when Apple has built its billions upon the true fact that no one gives a shit about specs anymore. The proof is in the experience.

The main thing on there should be Day 1 OS updates from the manufacturer. Screw the fragmented OS with Android
Just a note, the benchmarks for the A6 have been tested through geekbench to show that the processor is dual-core and not quad-core as stated above. (http://www.macrumors.com/2012/09/16/iphone-5-benchmarks-appear-in-geekbench-showing-dual-core-1ghz-a6-cpu/)
Still doesn’t change the bottom line :)
Ok, Samsung, that’s a new low.
How is posting a list of facts low?
Because apple has never made any attack ads…
Also, the a6 is a dual core processor made by Samsung. Front camera… yea s3 has a better processor
icloud – who needs it you have google drive and more.
shared photo stream – has that too.
Panorama – pretty sure my camera app already does that.
700,00 apps – google play and other apps plus easier to develop for.
passbook – google wallet
free os updates annually – yea android updates are free too
facetime – video calls also exist on android works even better with gchat
maps and flyover – nothing compared to google maps
See Samsung was pointing out things the iphone 5 does not have…
Maybe you didn’t get that part of the ad.
I’m a pc.
-Um, Google Drive doesn’t even touch iCloud. If you really want a competitor, look to Dropbox, not Drive.
-Shared photo streams on Android are very complicated and not user friendly at all.
-The big part of the OS for iOS is that it goes to a LARGE number of COMPATIBLE devices ANNUALLY. This is not something that can be said about Android.
-Ok, Gchat is no competition for Facetime at all and anyone with eyes can see that.
-There are a ton of companies that use Google Maps on their back end that are jumping ship to other providers, not just Apple. Google Maps will not sustain it’s lead for long. Not to mention how much more intuitive Apple’s new mapping system is than Google’s.
Android easier to develop for? Not hardly! One of the main complaints from app developers is that Android is too fragmented and is difficult to develop for. Android updates may be free, but only if your lucky enough to have a phone the update might work with. iOS is updated on a regular basis and it will work on multiple generations of iPhone.
You forgot “Fits in human hands.”
So you’re a Windows PC lover, a Google fan, and obviously dislike iOS….so why exactly are you here, again?….
apple would be stupid to release such a counter ad as it demonstrates how the S3 is superior. Similar to the emperor’s new clothes the applets* are blinded by the hype and can’t read what is in front of them.
*Applet: person who is brainwashed by apple, person devoid of human reasoning
Usage: Get out of my face you f applet before it shove that iphone up …
Samsung is weak
