Capcom announced today the upcoming release of three of its wacky courtroom games to the iPhone and iPad. Originally released on Nintendo’s dual screened handhelds, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy HD will include all three of the Phoenix Wright games, with Ace Attorney, Justice for All, and Trials and Tribulations stepping up to the courtroom bar.

Not only will the entirety of all three classic games appear on iOS, but they’re being remastered to take advantage of the might higher resolution of the iPhone and iPad’s retina displays. The controls have also been revamped to take advantage of the platform’s tap and swipe gestural control schemes.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney HD Trilogy will be a free download, and the first two episodes in the trilogy will be playable for free. You will be able to buy and download the games individually, or buy them all in one bundle up front, similar to how the DS-like Ghost Trick was presented on iOS.

Phoenix Wright is a quirky game that requires quick wits and a willingness to let the story take the driver’s seat. Ace Attorney Wright is full of in-your-face anime verve and vigor, yelling all sorts of fun sentiment, like “Hold it!” and “Objection!” It’s over the top courtroom hijinks and was a seriously huge hit on the Nintendo DS.

No release date has been named for the trilogy as of yet, but we’ll keep an eye on Capcom and let you know as soon as we find out. You’ll need at least iOS 5 to run the game trilogy, so if you don’t have that, yet, you might want to upgrade.

Capcom has also released some screenshots and some sweet wallpapers as well, so have at them below.
