Have you been eyeing on a brand new Caddy? Do you like Apple products? Then you will be pleased to know that Cadillac will giving each buyer of its 2013 XTS a new iPad.

Announced at the CTIA conference this year, iPads will be loaded up with car manuals and apps to then be given to 2013 XTS owners. The initiative is supposed to teach car owners about CUE, the dashboard system that comes with a new Caddy.

Cadillac’s head of customer experience spoke to Wired:

“We need to think about helping [owners] with the learning curve,” Harland tells Wired. “Even if you get a walk-through at the dealership, you’re going to forget about a lot of the features. And we want the customer to learn about CUE on their own time.”

Like Ford’s SYNC technology, Cadillac’s CUE relies on Nuance (the tech behind Apple’s Siri) to recognize voice commands. Internet apps like Pandora can be used to play music from a smartphone, and developers can integrate with CUE’s API to offer enhanced, hands-free experiences on the road.

Each 2013 XTS owner’s iPad will come with the OnStar RemoteLink app and another app that simulates the CUE user interface. Cadillac is hoping that its simulation will help car owners get familiarized with the new tech.

And in case you were wondering, a 2013 XTS will cost at least $50,000.
