Upload Any File To iCloud [Video How-To]

iCloud is a great addition to the Apple ecosystem, but at times, it’s a little too limited in functionality for some. Many users wanted to be able to use their free iCloud storage as they would Dropbox, but iCloud restricts access and is only useful for storing app data or iOS backups. For those who are looking to get a little more out of iCloud, here’s a handy workaround I discovered today that allows you to upload any file to iCloud, much like you would with Dropbox. It’s not perfect, but it works, and for many it’ll be a helpful addition to iCloud.

What’s odd when I log into iCloud and go to the iWork area I don’t have the option for the + in the corner, I have the free extra space from being a MobileMe user prior to the iCloud update so this would be a great work around for me…But I have access to my Public folder still through iDisk so I’m guessing that’s why I don’t have this access. Any ideas?

I used a work around where you create an iCloud alias folder that you can drag and drop items into it to upload to iCloud. Seems way more practical!

Why not just use drop box, like really. It’s free and gives you a fair bit of space and is really easy to use. Idk just me.

Sounds interesting your idea Kelvin, How do you create the iCloud alias folder?

you have to have the pages/keynote for ios at some point because you do not have that gear option if you never got pages for ios.

OR you can just use EasyCloud application to manipulate your icloud’s storage to your heart’s content and thank me back later :)

I don’t have a plus sign. I just have 3 buttons to download Pages, Numbers, and Keynote for iOS. That’s it. This article is useless unless you already have iWork for iOS.

When June comes around you won’t have iDisk anymore. If you did what I did, which was create a new me.com name for my phone when iCloud dropped. Then configuring it was a nightmare. one had my free 25gb upgrade but couldn’t use Photostream and the other Main iCloud options. The new one I created could but didn’t have the extra storage…Im still struggling to Sync my Apple life.
