Illuminate Your iPhone 4’s Apple Logo With This Awesome Mod, But Be Quick!

By

We’ve seen this magnificent mod for the iPhone 4 before, from a U.K.-based iPhone repair specialist, but the best thing about this one from K.O. Store is that it’s available to purchase right now! The kit allows you to easily replace the rear panel of your iPhone 4 with one that features an illuminating Apple logo.

But you’ll have to be quick — it’s only on sale for two days, and could be pulled sooner if Apple steps in.

The mod takes just five minutes to install, and is incredibly simple to do. You simply have to remove two screws at the base of your device and slide off its rear panel, then remove another five screws inside and hook up the glowing panel to your iPhone’s display connector. It sounds a lot more complicated that it is, but it’s certainly not for the faint-hearted.

To demonstrate just how easy it is, K.O. Store has provided the video below, which shows them installing the mod in under five minutes:

The kit is available to purchase now for $42, and you can choose to have the traditional Apple logo or a Steve Jobs tribute logo. But K.O. Store knows it will attract attention from Apple’s legal team, so you’ve got just two days to purchase it before it’s taken down. It could end even sooner if Apple’s lawyers act quickly.

K.O. Store estimates that it will take two days for the kit to ship and promises that it doesn’t alter the dimensions of your device whatsoever. So, what are you waiting for?

right on void the warranty of your iPhone for only $42

  2. Mark Berry says:

very helpful video too… every action is hidden by the guys hand!

  3. Michael Pollock says:

Forget about all of the warranty issues. Is this a how-to video that obscures any pictures of how-to? Could his blocking of every action possibly have been an accident?

  4. Joches says:

My iPhone4S’ Battery says: “Noooo Please!!!”

  5. Jordan Clay says:

$42??? Ehh…i’ll pass.  it will be obsolete in 8 months w/  the iPhone 5 anyways.

  10. poppa1138 says:

poor video, should have focused more on fitting not the back of his hands…

  11. Mike Rathjen says:

Those screws are simple on the older iPhone 4, but newer iPhone 4 and 4S have new proprietary patented screws requiring tools that are very hard to come by.

My older iPhone 4 had tiny phillips screws but after getting it repaired, it came back with the new proprietary screws.

  12. Joaquin Jang says:

Wouldn’t this hurt battery life even more?

  13. ScorpionGeorge says:

Right?! I thought that video sucked. All I could see were his hands. Seemed like they more focused on showing the timer, then completely forgot about it towards the end.

  14. Clark Wallace says:

Exactly what I was thinking, don’t think I’ll be shelling out $42 for an even more suckier battery life on my 4S!

  15. Clark Wallace says:

Yeah those pentalobular screws are sucky, once you remove them with a pentalobular driver the heads of the screw are pretty much ruined.

  16. Clark Wallace says:

Apple is probably attacking them with a DDoS attack, well probably not but it would be funny!

  17. charlie edwards says:

    Maybe if your an idiot.

  18. charlie edwards says:
