Microsoft has released an iPad version of its popular OneNote app. The note-taking app is available in the App Store for free with limited functionality. A $14.99 in-app purchase unlocks the ability to take an unlimited number of notes, while free users are limited to 500.

iPad users must be running iOS 4.3 or higher and have a Windows Live ID to use the OneNote app. Microsoft notes that the new release also includes better language support, a tabbed user interface, quick note creation, table rendering, an improved sign-in experience, the option to sync only over Wi-Fi, and the in-app upgrade option.
The iPhone version of OneNote is also available for free in the App Store with a $4.99 in-app purchase to unlock full functionality.

I like how they purposely kept that hideous pale fuchsia book icon as if they actually believe it’s attractive. I’m only surprised that there isn’t any cobalt blue.
Any reason to pick this over simple note?

A day late and a dollar short Microsoft. I loved One Note when I had a PC, but you failed to offer it on all platforms until now… Switched to Evernote, and never looking back, it works on everything I use, and everything I might think of using in the future… and it’s FREE… and it just works.
