Carved from aircraft-grade aluminum with two tripod mounts, the iPhone Lens Dial defiantly asks — and responds to — the question, “Who says you can’t put external frickin’ lenses on your iPhone? Stupids, that’s who!” But who is stupider: the guy who doesn’t think you can put a lens on your iPhone, or the guy who pays $250 for a bulky case to do just that?
Whatever your answer, the iPhone Lens Dial comes with three lenses to help make your iPhone photos pop: a 0.7x wide-angle, a 0.33 fisheye and a 1.5x telephoto lens. And even though the thing is too huge to fit in the pockets of all but the most voluminous of parachute pants, the case only weighs about 10 ounces.
The price, though, seems prohibitive: $250. I’d rather put that money towards a new lens for my SLR and call it a day.

You’ll likely get a lot of WTF faces instead of smiles when taking pictures with that thing.Â

Seriously, buy a camera dude!
Lol, I know we all love the iPhone but geez! Just buy a real camera already. Look at that monstrosity!Â
This will surely work well with Instagram!
I wonder if the “buy a camera” shouts are similar to the “get a horse!” shouts early automobile drivers endured..Â
That should feel good in the pocket.
I’m tempted simply because it looks SO stupid. :)
But in reality, why have no camera companies come out with a good body that takes pro lenses, and connects via the dock connector to use the iPhone as the brains and viewscreen? I would have thought that would be available as a product by now.
They HAVE!
