Contradicting an earlier news report that Apple co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs is expected to attend Tuesday’s iPhone event, a technology blogger claims Jobs is “just not feeling well enough” to publicly appear.
Blogger Robert Scoble made the claim amid speculation over whether Jobs would attend the Tuesday event expected to unveil a new iPhone. Earlier Tuesday morning, Reuters reported the iconic former Apple head was “expected to attend” without mentioning any source for the claim. When Jobs retired as CEO, he said he would stay on as a member of the tech giant’s board of directors.
Although it’s unclear what role Jobs would play in the scheduled media event, tomorrow’s announcement will be the first time new CEO Tim Cook takes center stage. An appearance by Jobs could reassure investors the man who helped build Apple was still involved.

I don’t know why you would think he would be there, the pictures of him recently didn’t look great and I doubt he would have improved much in that time if he was getting better.
Of course he doesn’t look better, even compared to those ‘shopped and mis dated photos. You don’t get better, especially in appearance, when your liver and pancreas have been F’d up. They are a major part of the system that controls putting on muscle mass. Mess with that and you will always look thin and frail.
Scoble is an idiot. Steve not showing up could have nothing to do with his own health and everything to do with keeping the media from focusing on him and not the products. Or Steve could be there like he never stepped down.
if you mean those near-death pictures, they were fake
Here’s hoping he’s there and well. Not as a presenter, but because he would WANT to be there as the person who is more invested in Apple products than anyone alive. Not because he’s pivotal to Apple’s future, but because he’s a person deserving of dignity (which the photos circulating of late have tried to strip him of, ‘shopped or not). Not because I want to see him one more time, but because he loves what he does (did) and deserves to be there for the payoff.
Why do I imagine Scoble sits around like Jon Lovitz on SNL proclaiming “I’m a JOURNALIST!”
I never expected Jobs to attend. It’s Tim Cook’s first official show, and Jobs presence could be seen by investors as an inherent weakness and destroy his credibility. If there’s anything Jobs understands, it’s the importance of symbols. So Scoble decides he can boost his delusion as an expert on Apple by perverting the expected absence of Jobs. He makes an empty “prediction” and bases it on a disgusting false supposition, and expects people to connect it to his reprehensible statement. It’s like saying Bill Gates absence is proof of a blood feud between the two.
Piece of sh*t.
Were they fake? I thought they just doctored them to make him look worse, I think he still looked pretty bad. Though if somewhere there is evidence that the pics are completely fake I’ll take back what I said.
‘a technology blogger claims Jobs is “just not feeling well enough”’
‘Blogger Robert Scoble made the claim amid speculation…’
Apparently, out of a sudden technology bloggers turned infallible.
Best case scenario for a Jobs appearance would be Tim Cook or Johnny Ives telling the iPhone Assistant to call Steve, and having Steve answer via FaceTime on 3G.
Seriously, wtf is wrong with you. That you have this much vitrol directed at some anonymous internet blogger is pretty pathetic. Go outside. Get a life. Move away from the keyboard.
