The Perfect Hard Disk Enclosure for Your Mac’s External HD… If Only It Wasn’t Counterfeit

We’ve seen some pretty desirable counterfeit accessories for our Macs before — such as that delightful little card reader from MIC Gadget that featured a glowing Apple logo — but unfortunately, Apple drops its banhammer on them before we get chance to buy them.

It looks like the Cupertino company has done the same thing with this little gem, which could be the perfect hard drive enclosure for your Mac.

The iHdd Slim External Hard Drive Enclosure is a case that you can slap on an a spare 2.5-inch hard drive to transform it into an external HD. Like that counterfeit card reader from MIC Gadget, this counterfeit HD enclosure sports a glowing Apple logo, and a white/black plastic shell with a metal band around the edge that was clearly styled on the iPhone 4.

The enclosure will support a hard drive up to 500GB and hooks up to your Mac via USB. It costs just $26, but right now it’s currently unavailable, with Amazon stating, “We don’t know when or if this item will be back in stock.”

That makes us believe Apple may have already forced the iHdd 2 Slim onto the ever growing stockpile of counterfeit Apple merchandise, but we’re hoping it becomes available again soon. Yes, we know it’s damaging to Apple’s clean brand, but it’s pretty and we like it.
