The new CEO of Apple is responding to customer emails left and right from his tcook@apple.com address. Thanks to an email sent to that address, Apple’s VP of Internet Services has now shed a little more light on the availability of iTunes Match to customers outside of the US.

In an email to an iPhoneinCanada reader, Eddy Cue of Apple said that the iTunes Match streaming service would be available to customers in Canada “shortly” after its launch to the public in the US. Apple recently released a beta of iTunes Match to develepors, and the product is set to be released alongside iCloud, iOS 5, and the next gen iPhone this Fall.

The customer, Sheldon, originally sent an email about iTunes Match in Canada to Tim Cook.

“Greetings from Toronto!

Tim,

I’m curious to know if there have been any significant developments regarding iTunes Match for the Canadian market.

Thanks!

Sheldon”

Eddy Cue ended up responding:

“Hi Sheldon,

We’re working on adding Canada and hope to do so shortly after the US launch.

Eddy”

While Canadians and the rest of the world wait for iTunes Match, those in the US can rest assured that the service will be launched to the public in the next couple months.
