We’ve all seen a ton of Apple knockoff computers, phones and iPods, but I did a double take the other day when I spotted these “tablet” and “touch” calculators meant to look like Apple’s iPad and iPad Touch at a drug store here in San Francisco.
Might make a good gag gift or stocking stuffer, but who uses standalone calculator anymore?

Hundreds of millions of people in the world still use calculators – Heck, in the USA alone there are tens of millions of “10 key” jobs in retail, etc.). When I was in Tokyo in 2004 I saw lots and lots of calculators being used all over the place and not nearly so many computers as in the US… Some of the calculators were even little bitty ones like this one.
>iPad Touch
You might want to correct that…

I remember in the late 90’s when it seemed that every low-rent tech item was made of translucent plastic and was some ugly shade of bondi blue.
I think when Johnny Ives saw clear and bondi snap-on lids for your Sony Vaio that he burned all his designs and started over. :D (Hi Dave-O!)
I totally saw one of those calculators today, it was fuggin hilarious!
